MMR II Vaccine: Merck

MMR II is a live-virus MMR vaccine that combines attenuated (or weakened) versions of the measles, mumps, and rubella viruses.  It is approved for children 12 months old and older.

The CDC recommends that all children receive two doses of the MMR vaccine, the first between twelve and fifteen months and the second between four and six years old.

Because it is a live-virus vaccine, vaccine recipients can shed the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine viruses for up to 28 days after administration.

MMR II contains aborted fetal cells.
